all done up crazy super smash brothers style with wicked secrets at every turn. get on it!
Totally Tangents brings together the unbeatable combination of wit, humour, brevity, video efx, and killer theme music (yours truly did the soundtrack). And, I'm proud to say, my cousin Dan, a recent grad of BC is the mastermind behind this project (check out his youtube channel here for other amazingness). Supposedly Dan made a cool dozen of these but he's only slowly leaking them to the viral world. Stay tuned for more.
Secondly, my brother sent me this email today:
have you seen this video? is she your #1 fan?
I can only hope so. This is awesome and flattering, and if anybody out there wonders why we do what we do, this is exactly why. keep it up kids!
In the Radiohead Remix Contest, I Fully Support BOO RADLEY
Boo Radley (Bruises Badly), neé Luke Kirkland, once proud resident of our fair city, now reppin hard in Santa Fe, just sent us a new blazingly hot track.
It's an official entrant in the Radiohead Remix Contest that ends on May 1st. He takes the essence and aura of Radiohead's new jawn, "Nude" and bends it to his will, while dropping some of his sharp sharp precise over top. It's a beautiful blend and it totally works.
Direct From the "What Might Only Interest Me and TD" Department, Michael Bivins (yes, thatMichael Bivins) has been putting in work for a little tv network known as TNT. TNT, which broadcasts NBA games a couple times a week, apparently has employed Bivins to interview NBA players and provide a behind-the-scenes view on life in The Association. For the latest vignette, the local R&B crooner nabbed one of my current favorite Celtics, Glen "Big Baby" Davis.
The Biggest of Babies has quickly turned into a local legend in this his rookie year for the Boston Celtics. He may only be averaging 4.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, but he's getting way more minutes than preseason prognosticators predicted. With his catchy nickname, his gleeful grins, and his impressive agility, Davis and his teammates have staved off the winter doldrums of many a Celtic fan this year, including yours truly.
Last night, Madonna, along with Leonard Cohen and John "I think the next song I write will be about the U.S.A." Mellencamp were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Remember that bitching rock record Madonna kicked out a few years back? What was it called? "Erotica" I think. And who can forget that killer guitar solo she did on "Vogue". What a rock legend.
To commemorate the first lady of rock and her induction, Iggy, Mike Watt and some other dudes performed "Burning Up" and "Ray of Light" (video evidence posted below)
Some really neat stuff happens at the end of the second video. A camera follows Iggy backstage to the kitchen(?) where he's greeted and thanked by Madonna. Iggy goes on to describe the band's versions of her songs as "downtown".
