JON SOLOMON OF WPRB PRESENTS...
THE M ROOM / 9:00 / $8 / 21+

Philadelphia natives Bryan Poerner (former proprietor of label/message board Trackstar Records) and Rick Mitchell (former member of The Clocks and S Process) came together to form the Yah Mos Def in the fall of 2004. Influences include punk, hip-hop, Philly, sneakers, 80's pro wrestling, Steve Prefontaine, etc. Tracks have been produced by YMD themselves, Pink Skull (Tone Arm Records), and No. 1 (of Big Digits). Having sold through their initial demo, the new EP Plays Ugly For Suckers was recorded by Krash ( Krash is King Shit) and has sold lots of copies. Having performed across the country with bands like Pearls and Brass, Strike Anywhere, Mazarin, and Dismemberment Plan, their live show is for real. New album out soon on My Pal God Records.
